Thing #2

I have successfully created my avatar! It was difficult for me to choose my avatar's wardrobe. I really wanted to be a Disney princess, but I decided on everyday clothes because that fits who I really am. At first, my avatar would not let me choose skin color. There for a while I thought I would have to be a very intense white with absolutely no eyes besides for an outline. Thankfully, I got that issue worked out.
Eye color is a touchy subject for me. I have green eyes that sometimes turn to a dark blue shade. While in kindergarten, my teacher had us color an eye to match our own eye color so that we could place them on the board. This was to tally up the different eye colors of the room. I, of course, colored my eye green...BRIGHT green. It's my favorite color. My teacher informed me that I had blue eyes, not green. This lead to a total melt down on my part. She put the WRONG color eye on the board for me after I refused to color a new eye! How could she? I felt betrayed. To make a long story short, I drug my Momma into my classroom and demanded that she see my eye...my WRONG color eye. My Momma explained that my eyes do change color, so both the teacher and I were right. Just fyi...I made my avatar's eyes green because I have GREEN eyes. Even then I knew that I was meant to teach. After all, teachers always expect to be the smartest person in the room, right? Here's to working with other teachers and learning from them :)
Getting my avatar to my blog was a bit challenging because I had never done that before, but I finally figured it out!

As I read others' posts and other teacher blogs, I am beginning to get the hang of using technology for learning and the way I can implement blogging and Web 2.0 skills into my classroom.
